End of the Year Blues

Beautifully strange that this time of the year can be cozy, joyful, warm, while also feeling dark, hopeless, and heavy.

Entering Winter, finishing off the year, it’s not uncommon to feel the sadness and anxieties of 2021 bubbling up ready to release for the New Year. It’s always the most painful whilst shedding your skin. Much like the process of the caterpillar as it painfully bangs itself on the interior walls of the cocoon turning to mush, killing its prior existence. Metamorphosis doesn’t come without pain and embracing your shadows. Learning to breathe through the discomfort and actively choose not to fall into old habits that didn’t work for us the time before.

That’s where true transformation lays.

Breaking through to the next level closer to our higher selves. Cry, rest, breathe, feel. Be vulnerable as you move through this time trusting your forming gilded wings will help you feel lighter soon. As we’re constantly dying and rebirthing into our new selves in this life and all lives before and after. Using tools and practices to help you cope such as yoga and exercise, healthy foods, good sleep, music, journaling, reading, connecting with nature, coffee with a friend, small steps in the direction of your goals, manifesting lists etc. The most hopeless times where you question the purpose of waking up in the morning come right before the most rewarding times filled with gratitude and love. Don’t let your brain play tricks on you, just ride it out.

At least that’s how I feel
