5 Healthy Recipes for Dairy Free Milk

Want to avoid added Sugars, Gluten, gums, vegetable oils? Here are 5 easy and healthy DIY Dairy Free Milk Recipes. Make sure that your “healthy alternative” is actually healthy in under 5 minutes!

 

Oat Milk

1. Oat Milk

Ingredients: 1 cup organic gluten-free oats, 4 cups filtered water

Blend together 30-40 seconds. Strain through a clean t-shirt for best results (you can use nut milk bag).

Optional* Add a pitted date for sweetness, cacao powder for chocolate milk, or sea salt and berries for different flavor varieties.

How to make your oat milk not slimy?

Do not over blend, do not soak the oats prior, strain twice to remove any excess starch, use clean t-shirt rather than nut milk bag.

Best served cold.


Almond Milk

2. Almond Milk

Ingredients: 1 cup raw organic almonds, 3 cups filtered water, pinch of sea salt

Soak almonds in water overnight, drain water out and add almonds to blender with fresh water and salt.

Optional* Add dates for sweetness, cacao powder for chocolate milk, berries for berry milk

Strain through nut milk bag


Coconut Milk

3. Coconut Milk

Ingredients: 2 cups raw shredded organic coconut, 4 cups filtered water.

Blend together. You don’t have to strain through a nut milk bag, but you can to remove fibrous texture.


Macadamia Milk

4. Macadamia Milk

Ingredients: 1 cup raw organic macadamia nuts, 3-4 cups filtered water, pinch of sea salt, 1 pitted date

Soak macadamia nuts in water for 1-2 hours, rinse and drain, add macadamia nuts to blender with fresh water and salt. Strain through nut milk bag


Hemp Milk

5. Hemp Milk

Ingredients: 1 cup organic hemp seeds, 3 cups filtered water, pinch of sea salt

Blend together. Strain through nut milk bag for smoother texture but not necessary

Optional* Add dates for sweetness


Refrigerate all of the above in air tight container, they should last 3-5 days.
